Charles F. Luquet is Nationally Certified by the NCARB. He is a Licensed Architect in Louisiana and Mississippi and is the Owner / Managing Member of LUQUET ARCHITECTS, LLC.
Mr. Luquet has been involved in the construction industry since the summer of 1980 when he started with Berthelot Builders as an assistant carpenter. At that time he was involved in the building of a new large disco adjacent to Bayou Bienvenue in St. Bernard Parish.
He worked for Architectural firms starting in late 1980 and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1981 from Tulane University. He was awarded his first license as an Architect in early 1984, and received Tulane’s Master of Architecture in 2004. Mr. Luquet enjoyed the comprehensive Architectural responsibilities afforded him while working on commercial projects for 8 year at 2 small firms. Later in his career, he spent approximately 8 years working on larger commercial projects for one of the region’s largest and most highly regarded and successful Design-Build firms. Through his responsible roles on projects such as the $42M, 1.25 million sf Pic ‘N’ Save Regional Distribution Facility, and the Fort Polk Consolidate Supply Facility he was able to gain very valuable and unique experience in many areas which in turn enable him to offer his current and future clients significant cost-effective solutions in most all phases and aspects of Architectural services. Mr. Luquet was fortunate in his later years of practice to further compliment his experience in large and small renovation and new projects. He has shown his deep understanding of building codes and construction techniques, as well as his effective guidance in the process of construction to result in various benefits to owners.
In 2005, Charles founded Luquet Architects and has since enjoyed a variety of private and public work as well as a mix of new and renovation work. He continues to feel that some of the most exciting times are when most all challenges of a project seem unmanageable, and we find ways to achieve the client’s goals through them all with a cost-effective and timely result. One recent example of this presented itself mid-2016, in the Adaptive Reuse of The Kenner Rivertown Exhibition Hall and other connected buildings into school facilities for the Kenner Discovery Health Science Academy, a project that demanded an impractical pace, partnering, intimate knowledge of construction and building code application, as well as constant coordination and hands-on attention. Those demands were met with acute attention by the entire team and resulted in the successful and timely opening for the outstanding charter school.
There are many notable projects that Charles F. Luquet has been responsible for, most of which are shown on this website. In all of his work, he has embedded much pride. Just a small sample of such pride filled work includes:
